Jamaica Day 4

It’s golf day for Paul and Randy and the rest of us are vegging by the pool, soaking up sun and getting massages. There’s a little more wind today, so the ocean is a little choppy. No kayaks today. Awwwwww. Kitty and I sit by the pool, Bloody Mary’s in hand, and wait for our turn at massages. Kitty shows me this new computer game, Candy Crush. “It’s kind of addictive” she says. Great, just what I need. Something to get in the way of my solitaire time. But, she’s right. It is pretty addictive. And, it’s less calories than the real stuff, so this could turn out ok. Next, the massage. Man o man o man! That felt gooooooooood. I’m relaxed and very oily. But, who the hell cares? I feel great. Today we are supposed to have Jerk chicken for lunch with the other guests at the little house down by the beach. First off, the tables were set way too fancy for jerk chicken. China, silver and crystal to eat finger food? Just doesn’t seem to look right. I know there is a word for it, but as I write this I’m 4 days into mucho cocktails and red stripe and the darn word just won’t come! Don’t like it? Plbfffff! The chicken was amazing! And in retrospect maybe it did deserve all the pomp and circumstance I was denying it. So, maybe you should disregard the missing word conundrum. The plbfffffffff! Stays!
We CLIMB down to the beach and quickly find our cabana boy and request our beach libation. Ahhhhh! The sun is warm and we soak up our USDA of vitamin D. The water is a bit murky and rough from the wind, but Peggy has devised a brilliant method of avoiding those toe eating rocks! SIDE STEP! I told you, it was brilliant. And good news! No jellyfish! After procuring our needed vitamin D, we CLIMB back up the stairs to get bussed back to our house, where I can CLIMB down to my room. FYI, from this point on, I’ve made an executive decision. Any mention of CLIMBING must be capitalized! At this point in the trip, it deserves honorable mention.
Ok, I’m back in my room and I collapse! Jerk chicken, beach libations, sun. Vitamin D and CLIMBING! I’m taking a freaking nap.
Tonight’s dinner is shrimp in garlic sauce, goat and veggies with rice. I’ve never had goat before, so I was a little hesitant. Now, I’m hoping this wasn’t one of the cute little road goats we nearly ran down yesterday. I mean, I REALLY hope not. But, these things must be tiny. The bones are like the ones you find in fish. And it was one of those hunt and peck adventures. But, when you found it, gold. Pure gold.
Now, we are determined to play an entire game of Mexican train tonight. 12-00. No napsies!
And we made it! Yours truly, won the evenings game. Actually, I wiped the floor with the rest of them! Woohoo! It’s 10:30 and bed time. Or, maybe Candy Crush is calling my name.
Oh, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty! What have you done?
